Happy 3 months, Owen!

Wednesday marked Owen’s 3-month birthday. Time has been flying. We’re learning more about his personality – which is dramatic at times. He’s been fussy and eating like crazy. We think he’s on the edge of a developmental breakthrough or a big growth spurt. According to our infant massage instructor, it’s common behavior when they’re working up to something big.

Owen’s either extremely happy, or frustrated as hell. He’s certainly not a passive baby. I believe that it’s his zest for life that got him through his early weeks, and it’s that same enthusiasm that will teach him to enjoy every day to the fullest. I really hope we do a good job of showing him that. Lately I’ve been hooked on the “Three Beautiful Things” blog. My own three beautiful things for today: I can make Owen smile, Randy had the day off so I was able to run out and get a pedicure, and the tulips we planted in December bloomed beautifully and were the talk of the block.

Owen’s new "beautiful thing" is the consonant, “g”. He’s been throwing out a lot of “ah-goo”, “ah-gaa”, “goo”, and “ga”. He especially appreciates it if you repeat it back to him. He’s also been battling a cold, the poor guy, and the congestion has been bothering him. We’ve been trying to keep him upright as much as possible. Hopefully the worst is behind him. I hate seeing him sick.

Thank you for your continued donations to our walk for preemies! We’re gearing up for it in just a few short weeks.

Thanks for 3BTing -- much appreciated. I'd never appreciated the satisfaction you get from making a baby smile until my goddaughter Ellie was born.

jenna: yay! my heart grows each time i read your blog. it sounds like little o is on his way to a fun summer, colds and growth spurts and all. and god do i know how fab it can be to get a pedicure. i've been trying to make time since LAST SUMMER and am hoping to make it out for one this week. even if there is still snow on the ground here...and more coming. who cares if april is the cruelest month in western mass, i'll have my toe nails done, damnit! happy spring to you all!

one more thing: this from the 3bt blog reminded me of owen's journey...

3. Among pink camelia flowers browned by last week's icy weather, a single perfect bloom.
